The people behind the Academy
We’ve done the job.
Now we help you do it.
Two mortgage professionals with over 20 years’ experience each. Between us, we’ve advised clients, managed teams and trained advisers at every level — and we built Mortgage Train Academy to give talented people the start they deserve.
Co-founder
Dan Jones
Dan has spent over 20 years at the sharp end of the mortgage industry — as an adviser, a sales manager and a trainer who has developed talent at every level. He’s seen what separates those who thrive from those who struggle, and he’s built that insight into every part of the programme. Straight-talking, results-focused and invested in every graduate’s success.
Co-founder
Ricky Naylor
With more than 20 years of mortgage industry experience across advising, managing and training, Ricky knows this business inside out. He’s passionate about giving people a real shot at a career in mortgages, not just a qualification. His approach is hands-on, honest and focused on what works in the real world.
“We’ve done everything this industry has to offer. Now we want to make sure you don’t have to learn it the hard way.”
— Dan & Ricky, co-founders
Our story
Why we built
Mortgage Train Academy.
Between us we’ve spent over four decades in the mortgage industry — advising real clients, leading sales teams and training advisers from day one to fully established careers.
But we kept seeing the same problem. Motivated, capable people passing CeMAP and then hitting a wall. No experience, so no employer. No employer, so no experience. A catch-22 locking talent out of the industry — not because they weren’t good enough, but because nobody gave them the right start.
So we built a programme that gives newly qualified advisers what they actually need: live training from people still active in the industry, practice on real scenarios, post-course support, and a guaranteed introduction to a real adviser role with leads provided.
Not a course. A career launch.
Our partnership
Working with
Echo Finance.
Echo Finance is a whole-of-market mortgage, protection and home finance brokerage founded in 2012 by experienced advisers John Tarazi and Lee Trett. Based in Mirfield, Yorkshire, it is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 570073).
Graduates who pass the course and meet Echo’s eligibility requirements are introduced to a self-employed mortgage and protection adviser role within the Echo Finance network, where leads are provided at no cost and there’s compliance and admin support. Echo provides the regulatory framework and infrastructure. We provide the training, the skills and the people.

What we stand for
The principles
behind the programme.
01
Real opportunity
We don’t just train people — practical training, support and a guaranteed introduction to an adviser role make the opportunity real.
02
Genuine support
Six months of dedicated support and mentoring from active advisers, then ongoing support whenever you need it — through the hard cases and the moments you need guidance most.
03
Compliance first
We teach a compliant process from day one, and graduates work with the partner firm’s compliance support — protecting them and their clients.
04
Long-term thinking
We help graduates build sustainable businesses that generate referrals, repeat clients and long-term income.
The difference
Passing CeMAP is the start,
not the finish.
We start where they finish. Our trainers are active advisers, the leads are real, the lender panel is live and the compliance support is genuine. We succeed when our graduates succeed.
Practical, not academic
Built around the real job
Fact-finds, research, applications and client conversations — not textbooks and theory.
Active industry trainers
Current market knowledge
We know what lenders want today, what clients expect and what makes a case place or fail.
End-to-end support
With you at every stage
From your first day of training through six months of dedicated mentoring, then ongoing support whenever you need it — not 10 days and then nothing.
